I don't know about you - but I hate wearing a hat. Never liked it even when I was a kid. I have to really make myself wear a hat when I am outside now - and often it finds itself sitting on a bench somewhere neglected - he he he. I will never like having to wear a hat. Too late now to learn to love them. Even kids here now have to wear a sun hat at school when they are outside during breaks.
Fortunately the Girl in this image loves her hat. She is stamped in Archival Black ink and coloured with water colour pencils. Fussy cut and layered up on to some design paper.
Once I uploaded this card and looked at it in the Gallery I noticed that this girl has the most porcelain complexion - he he he - not in real life though she has a lovely blush pink face and rosy cheeks. Or perhaps its the type of complexion you get when you DO wear your hat when you are told to.
Hope you enjoy.

Very pretty...and I can relate to the pale face...that's me especially in the winter. I love the colors you used on this. I'm not much of a hat person either but for practical reasons I do have to wear one if I'm outside for long in the winter.

This is a beautiful and vintage looking creation. I love all your colors. I find it interesting that kids “have” to wear a hat outside. Where are you? I struggle with hats…I wear them as I had melanoma but my head gets so itchy. The struggle is real!!

Wonderful image and beautifully colored. Back in my 20's & 30's when hats were in vogue, I loved them BUT the crown of my head was quite small so sadly most were just way too big for me. So I envy the porcelain look of your beauty's skin (my is blotched from too many years of sun exposure . . .)

This is lovely Helen! Love her look and the pansies on the paper are so pretty. I would love to be able to wear hats. I don't have the hair for it. I get hat head, lol. And can't get my hair back to what it looked like before I donned the hat. I do wear a toque in the winter though when out for a walk. Too cold otherwise. Your card make me want to do more pencil coloring!

Hi Helen, what a lovely hat, woman, and design. I especially like how you mirrored the pendants with your layers. Just as Shirl said, ‘I want to do more coloring with pencils’. Thanks for your input on wearing hats as well as your beautiful card.

I DO like wearing hats - I said to Susan that I only got out of the habit when we didn't have a car for a few years and I was getting the bus everywhere. And I would love one like this. Great design with the banners echoed in the matting, and that paper with the pansies is gorgeous.

I don't wear hats often - in the summer to shade me from sunshine when I've done gardening, and in the winter I wear stockinette caps I have made for warmth - especially during storms. But your hat is beautiful!!

So fun to see your beautiful card, Helen. Love your image and that banner on the botto is perfect and fun
Yes, I think a face looks so much better if a person always wear a brimmed hat, but I am like you (I hate to wear them too). Hugz
