I love Monet's paintings and although I did not do this in his style, I selected one of his favorite subject matters from his garden. When in France this last time, I was lucky enough to stay in Giverny and visit Monet's home and magnificent gardens. Also, his family bequeathed his personal paintings to the Marmottan Museum in Paris, which built a special wing to house them. If in Paris and you like Monet, don't miss it.

Oh, I have always thought I would love to stay in the village. It must be wonderfully peaceful and quiet at night. That and Carcassonne are the two places I would love to stay over for the atmosphere. We rearranged our visit to Giverny this year after looking at the weather forecast - and were so glad we did, though it meant a 6.30 am start from the Auvergne . Your card is absolutely beautiful, and certainly captures the lilies in the water garden.
