This week we are visiting the wonderful world (Gallery) of our newest Featured Stamper, Sandye (aka sgc). I was recently gifted a fabulous menagerie of black die cuts of various African animals by Anne aka annsforte3 (THANK YOU SO MUCH ANN!). I need a bday card for my friend who loves Africa and especially giraffes. So, when I saw this wonderful card from Sandye, it inspired me to pull out my little zoo: CT0722 Moose You by sgc at Splitcoaststampers
I kept Sandye's black silhouetted animal and simple framing; but switched out her moose for the two giraffes. Since I'm on the savannah instead of in the Northwoods, I also changed the bg and her woodgrain framing to bright golden hues and simple black frame.
For this background, I ink blended DOX on glossy card stock, used water with the stencil to make a bokeh and added a few marker strokes for grass/grounding at the bottom. To finish up, I rubbed on the Distress Glaze and then wiped it clean. This technique gives such vibrant colors; my photo skills really can't capture them though. The sentiment is heat embossed and the circle partially cut off. The rest of the card is cut and glue.
Congratulations Sandye on being selected this week's Featured Stamper. You have a fabulous Gallery and there are a couple more cards I am eyeing to CASE. I hope you enjoy your week in the spotlight.
In case you're wondering about my title, I recently saw this sweet Facebook video of Asante, a newborn giraffe at the Milwaukee Zoo: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=12...36&ref=sharing. I hope you are having as much fun today as Asante. TFL

Beautiful card!!! Love your card title also. I’m in the Cincinnati area (northern Kentucky) and we have a new hippo, Fritz—brother to Fiona who made National news 2-3 years ago when she was born prematurely, and not expected to survive! Brother and big sister are both so cute!
