This week we are sending each other cards that remind us of loved ones. This card pays homage to my father, who was happiest when on his boat. He actually made a transatlantic journey in a 38' Yawl, landing in the Azores.
I stamped the steering wheels on Crumb Cake, sponged with Soft Suede and ran through a woodgrain EF. Stamped the images on ivory cards (which are actually leftover RSVP cards from my wedding!) and sponged Crumb Cake around the edges. Made pseudo bowknots in the blue hemp cord. I wish I could send this to him in Heaven, but I am happy that it will go to a fellow cardmaker who can appreciate this labor of love.

Wonderful card, I love all the details. I like the idea of sailing, but have never tried it (apart from small cruisers on our largest river). I love seeing the sailing yachts when we holiday in Greece. The texture and the twine add so much to this already lovely card.

What a beautiful tribute to your father! And, it was a cool idea to run the stamped background through the ef for texture and great effect. Love your knotted blue twine as well - completes the card nicely!
