It's Teapot Tuesday and a tickler. Our challenge is to create a card that reminds us of a loved one. Looking through my stamps I found these two mason jars and immediately was reminded of my grandmother and her pantry. My grandma had a huge garden and pickled, canned and froze her produce for winter. Her pantry was stocked with jars upon jars of beautiful vegetables and fruit. The shelves were perfectly clean and organized, the room spacious and cool. It was here among the jewel filled jars that I took a book and escaped my often chaotic childhood.
The jars here are paper pieced, the mouse stamped and fussy cut and I've got gold dotted paper. Had I ever seen a mouse in grandma's pantry I would not have found it to be an escape. Enjoy!

Vicky, what a fun, creative card! I'm glad you have good memories of your grandmother and her pantry of canned goods! What a nice hide-away to read a book! Extra cookies for that gold polka dot background, too!

Vickydee,
Sorry you had a chaotic childhood but your card reflects a fabulous memory about your grandmother and her talent for organization and food prep!

These are absolutely glorious mason jars -- love the description of the jewel colors. Canning wasn't a part of my childhood but I love how you've turned it into a beautiful memory.

Now this is very cute. Jars full of wonderful yummy things and the little mouse helping himself to a strawberry that was no doubt destined for strawberry jam. Sweet in all ways.

Love, love your little mouse though like you I wouldn't have enjoyed seeing one in the pantry. Outdoors, fine.
Canning isn't that common here, but I know the satisfaction in seeing a shelf full of jams and jellies, and can imagine that seeing produce safely put up for the winter is even more satisfying.

We use to have a canning room when we were little. We spent so many hours gardening and canning and it was always great to see how much we filled the room from our little garden.
