This is my sample for CC905. Karen is our hostess and she chose pool party, poppy parade and pear pizzazz as her color trio. Dessert option this week is Christmas in July.
For my card I used a new to me cutting plate from Taylored Expressions - Blooming Holiday. I cut it in basic white cardstock and then placed it over a panel of pear pizzazz.
It just didn't pop so I decided to do a die inlay technique. I cut again in pool party and poppy parade and filled in some of the areas of the die.
The sentiment image is a die from CottageCutz - "Joy to the World Tree. I cut that in poppy and and faux ornaments in pear pizzazz. I added a gold star to the top. In hindsight, I think I should have cut the tree in pear pizzazz and used poppy for the ornaments. Oh well (lol)!!!
Hope you can play along with us this week. Maybe even use these colors for one of the DTGD challenges.

Mary, i love this! The inlaid technique on some of the areas is so effective, and I think you did the tree exactly right. The greeting pops in red, and (I think) would not do so in Pear Pizzazz. So gorgeous!

Beautiful card, Mary! I love the inlaid die cuts and personally I like the sentiment done in red! It makes it stand out much more, as does the red frame!

This is lovely Mary - has such a folk art feel to it with the pretty sentiment tree in the middle and it really complements the colors. Thanks again for all your help - Monday night and always!!
