My card is for Lee's Dare To Get Dirty challenge - I actually used a bunch of fun techniques! I watercolored the background of the main image first, and spritzed it with rubbing alcohol to get that mottled texture - the alcohol makes the paint dry faster wherever it hits - it's almost like a rock salt effect but much faster.
The ocean background paper was sanded with a nail block to distress the surface and soften the photo effect a little. I have a homemade stencil (cereal box, circle dies - I might have used it for a tutorial once or twice?) that I used to add a bokeh effect around the focal panel.
Dare to Get Dirty is a week packed with challenges and prizes for our Fan Club members but in 2022 everyone can join in the fun! The event runs from July 16-22, with 4 or more challenges each day... so many Dirty Girls providing inspiration for an amazing week!
