I'd been wanting to case this card of Karen Dunbrook's for ages. I loved the way she used the faux tearing to get the background. So I went back to April's Technique Lover's Challenge as well as today's Free for All challenge.
I used Karen's technique of tearing many strips, starting at the bottom with the first sponging of ink, and then moving up the card. Once my background was dry, I stamped my images and sentiment. Then once they were dry, I sprinkled chunky white Frantage and heated it from the underneath so it wouldn't blow away - a great way to create snowfall.

You did a wonderful job with the technique. And the gradients of blue from your sponging really give a wintery mood to this design. I love the falling snow. Very nice card.

Exquisitely done and beautiful Christmas card with the snowy scene featuring the deer and pines, Susan. The dimensional splatters really add to the feeling of an icy dusk.
