I had spent some time yesterday trying the tutorial from this week's Inkling: Faux Copper Patina Tutorials at Splitcoaststampers, and as it took three goes to get anything looking nearly like the example in the tutorial, I called it a day and thought I'd wait for the challenge this morning to see if I could use it in that.
I used a stencil called "Feathered" from That Special Touch and a Sakura stardust pen for the first sage. What took me several attempts was getting a sufficiently light hand with the white EP - I covered up too much of the first two attempts. My toothbrush was useless and took too much off, I need to look for a different sort to keep on my desk, maybe. I used vintage photo and walnut stain for the brown ink stage.
So today I started thinking geometry and was going to pull out my Penny Black triangle dies, but then remembered this old TH chevron die. I cut it from glossy back card, and from watercolour paper which I then coloured with Bic markers and some SN clear glitter pen. A couple of the bits without inlay are filled with Stickles, some have dots of gold Stickles.
I did try stamping directly on the base with Archival, but there was just too much texture for it to work, so I stamped on vellum and laid it over the original stamping - edging with a gold pen, stamping with a splatter in Delicata gold and also smudging a little gold Stickles on with my fingers, as I also did on the base.
There was still a lot of blank space, and while my thoughts went to butterflies as they always do, in the end I pulled out an old TCP die and cut it twice from one of my failed pieces. I used a little Inka gold along them to help them stand out, and also popped them up on foam. Added to a base (white, coloured round the edges with a black Sharpie) and then added gold Stickles all round the edge.

I love how you incorporated geometry on your card, so much visual interest here, Sabrina! My eyes instantly go to the black chevron die cuts, then 90° to the banner with the arrow pointing up! The background is lovely and love the subtle birds on the wire!
