I made this card to donate to Send a Smile 4 Kids. They are in the process of collecting Father's Day cards for hospitalized kids to send/give their dads.
I sized the image in Photoshop as per the sketch, & printed it onto a piece of watercolor paper. I used my watercolors to paint it. I die cut a scrap of green grid patterned paper from my stash for the grass, & glued that along the bottom of the panel. Finally, I matted that panel with a blue striped paper.
I adhered a green cardstock panel to a white card base for my mat. My background patterned paper wasn't quite 5-1/4" tall, so I fudged a bit. I cut the paper to 4" wide, & cut off about 3/8" at the bottom. I adhered the larger piece at the top of my card, and adhered the bottom strip so there was an even margin around everything that would show. This left about a 1/4" gap between the 2 pieces. After I printed my greeting strip, which I'd created on the computer, I adhered that over the gap between the patterned paper pieces. Only you, me, & the gatepost will ever know there is a gap behind the greeting strip! ;) Finally, I adhered my matted image panel.
