This is my sample for the Color Challenge. Karen is our hostess and she chose beautiful colors with Anything Goes for a dessert option. My dessert is ribbon.
This month I have been using stamp sets that will be retiring soon. This stamp is from the Jan-June 2021 Mini catalog and is still current. However, it is not in the new Annual Catalog, so I anticipate it will retire after June 30th or possibly it will become a carry-over item.
This is my first time to use this stamp. I had purchased it with a specific friend in mind. We have been friends for 40 plus years. During the pandemic we talked regularly and started a classic novel book club over the phone. We just finished our second classic novel. Whenever we are together, we go to a tea house or share a cup of tea at each other's homes. This stamp was perfect for her. Purple is her favorite color, so this color combo was perfect, too.
I stamped this all-in-one large stamp in Stazon ink on watercolor paper. Then I used watercolor pencils and a water painter brush to color the image. I drew from a current set that has a Pacific Point pencil; I had to sub for the Gorgeous Grape and Pear Pizzazz from a retired set. The panel was die-cut. I used a strip of Gorgeous Grape behind it. Shimmery Crystal Effects was painted on the lens area of the eyeglasses; this product is retiring. My dessert item is the ribbon, which is Pear Pizzazz seam binding.
Fabulous colors to work with. I look forward to seeing your creative ways to use this combo. Have fun!

I have yet to ink mine up and it will be gone!! You made such a pretty card with it - the pencils added a softness to the colors that really compliments your pretty card!!

This is so pretty! The stack is perfect in that scalloped border. I'll half to remember that as I've got this in my "little" collection too. It's so perfect for my book club buddies!

Great job incorporating this week's colors into this image that is so perfect for your friend--books, tea, friendship! I love the white-on-white on the right and the purple layer on the left for interest! So sad to see stamps retire, but they do make room for new goodies!

Diane this is a perfect image for this weeks colors! Your friend will also love this, especially because of the background the two of you share with the novel club! I'm sad to see the shimmery crystal effects go, it was a great addition to detailing this beauty of a card. TFS
