I used Stampin' Up! (SU) Kraft cardstock that I embossed in the SU "Painted Textures" embossing folder. The "stripes" where created with Copic alcohol markers that I spritzed with 99% alcohol, then blew the colors around with a drinking straw to blend them. I created the "sand", "water" and "sky" stripes using browns, aquas and orange markers on Yupo paper (non-puros plastic paper). Christine used vellum, but I chose the Yupo paper because it doesn't warp like vellum. I created the black palm trees using an SVG digital palm tree file I purchased from Creative Fabrica (https://www.creativefabrica.com/), and cutting them out twice with my Brother ScanNCut digital cutting machine, then glued them together slightly offset from one another for more depth.
The sentiment tag was created by stamping just the word "Relax" by only inking the bottom word in a 4-line sentiment onto SU Very Vanilla cardstock, then die cutting it with the second smallest die from the SU "Stitched Nested Labels" die set, then creating the orange mat by die cutting using the next larger size die. I didn't quite like how much orange showed on either end of the mat, so used the same die and moved it in from one end and cut again.
The black matted striped scene was glued just around the edges to a 2"x 4" piece of SU Very Vanilla cardstock to create a light base for the colors to show. I wrapped linen thread around the matted piece three times and taped to the back. I then made a 3-loop bow from the same thread and attached it with a glue dot.
The matted piece, palm trees, and matted sentiment were all attached using foam tape to give more dimension to the card.
I am rating the difficulty level of this card as a "3" out of a possible "5" because of the ink blending and the need to use a digital cutting machine since I don't have a palm die.
