I'm trying to get back into collage. I prefer collage that has a theme or some sort of cohesion. Here is what I did today:
Yesterday's WT-a ticket: I used a ticket from the 2019-2020 Milwaukee Rep season that NEVER GOT USED because of the pandemic.
MMJ2022-the March prompt: If you like mixed media, check out the MMJ2022 thread in the challenges. The March prompt was washi tape; cardboard; acrylic paint of Gesso; fruit; postcard; handwrite or doodle. I included all of them.
ABC16P is for petal: the flower on the postcard and the diecut on the right.
For my collage: I used the back of a spiral bound pad of mixed media paper, a piece of patterned cardboard from a Prego spaghetti sauce box, an old postcard from my Grandpa's collection, made in Germany, cancelled postage stamps, the ticket, washi tape, a gifted diecut, black and metallic acrylic paint and Gesso, some hand writing, which I don't like to do. Yes, I love doodling, don't like my writing. But, because I wanted this to be cohesive, I turned this conglomeration of stuff into my pandemic collage. I wrote, 'Was it destiny to spiral out of control?' and ' Why is fruit (and groceries for that matter) so expensive?', on the bottom left, the number of people confirmed dead of Covid as of today (960,603), and 'the play will go on!' I'm going to add 'I desire peace.' The play I should have seen is called Destiny of Desire. I'm happy to say the Rep is back in business this season. This project was therapeutic.

Jean it’s gorgeous, I love all the elements from the beautiful flower on the postcard to the stamps with fruits on them, they’re very unusual , so much to digest
Thanks for sharing your therapeutic process for this wonderfully cohesive collage. I imagine the pages within this lovely book will soon be filled with more art journaling as you bring peace to your heart.

Super collage and great texture and layers. Oh all those tickets that did not get used during the pandemic....I bet there are others that have those tickets.

Jean, such a sad state of affairs with Covid. I love how you expressed your feelings through this textured, multi media collage. I'm glad it was therapeutic for you. I like to express my feelings through collage, too. Great creation!
