I took some liberties with the banners in the sketch and made them "upside down" as mountains instead. I had no idea what I was going to do as I started, but the design evolved with each element I tackled.
The two pattern papers are panels cut from two different sheets of Stampin' Up! (SU) New Horizon DSP. After cutting and gluing them to the SU Basic Gray card base, I used a piece of "highway" pattern Washi tape that I've had FOREVER to make the road.
The car is from the SU 2022 Sale-abration catalog. I stamped in on white cardstock, then colored it with Copic markers. Then scanned it into my Brother ScanNCut CM350 and cut it out with a 0.05" margin around it. I then cut two more blank card outlines from plain white cardstock. I glued these two to the back of the colored image to give the car more dimension. I then glued the car to the vellum die cut circle and then put glue on the back of the vellum only where the car was attached so that no glue would show from the front. I think the vellum circle kind of gives the car a feeling of movement as it zooms down the highway :-)
The final step was to heat emboss the happy birthday sentiment in the lower left using white embossing powder.
I am rating the difficulty level of this card as a "3" out of a possible "5" since there are several steps that involve die cutting, heat embossing, and either fussy cutting or digital cutting of the car. I think this will make a great masculine birthday card!
