This week I am hosting the challenge and we are learning to paint Bluebirds. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.
This is the tutorial:
I wanted to paint holly/berries instead of flowers but you can do what you like. I haven't got to make many winter cards this year so that is what I have.
I love birds and the Eastern Bluebird is my favorite so I painted my bird like them. Then, I painted some holly and berries. I think the bird finds them tasty.
I added a snowbank, sky, and, and bit of falling snow.
The paper behind the focal image was some I have had for a long time and it seemed it wanted to be distressed so that is what it got.

Brenda, this is just SO sweet. Your painting of the little bluebird (one of my faves, too) is fabulous; gorgeous shading and his tail is perfect. Your berries and holly leaves are wonderful, as well. I'm putting this in my faves just so I can look at it whenever I feel like seeing something beautiful : )

Oh, Brenda, this is simply Gorgeous! How precious that you captured the bird nibbling on one of the berries! You've done an amazing job with the falling snow and the snow on the ground, very well done~

Brenda, this is such a lovely card! Beautiful water coloring! I'm envious that you get to see bluebirds in real life. We've never seen them here, BUT, just this week a flock of robins arrived in our neighborhood and they've got me thinking of Spring, sweet Spring. TYFS

Lovely card with your favorite, a bluebird, Brenda. It's great that he is doing something....pecking at a berry for nourishment on a cold winter's day. Terrific bg watercoloring too. Well done!!

Brenda - Thanks for a great challenge - I own zero bird stamps and really have rarely done (maybe 1 or 2) bird cards. So this was interesting for me. You did a great job painting your bird and that holly branch is magnificent. I can feel the winter's chill in what you have done here.

Beautiful sample of the blue bird for your challenge. Your background looks fantastic as a cold winter day. Like how his feathers are ruffled trying to keep warm. Fav’d
