This card will be for a dear friend. In her past life she was a teacher. It will be a gentle reminder of the day that she took me for "Show and Tell". She taught a class of 7/8 year olds in California. They all wanted to know about Australia but there was one very precocious little girl who knew all about Australia - she fired one question after another - and wanted to know all about the Aboriginies who "run around with no clothes on at all - even the women". Too many National Geographic TV shows under her belt! While the inquisition was going on I happened to look up and there was my friend Sue up the back of the classroom in fits of laughter. We still get a giggle over "show and tell" even to this day. Also wonder where that little girl ended up - wouldn't that be interesting to find out and I wonder if she ever got to Australia to find out the answer as to why the Aboriginals didn't wear any clothes.
This is another beautiful image from Snuggle Pot and Cuddle Pie children's book by May Gibbs.
Come to think of it those little gum nut blossom babies don't have any clothes on either - he he he. Its just an Australian thing I guess.
Hope you enjoy.
