This card was made for a sketch challenge that also had the option to include something "see through" as part of the card.
I decided to make the entire front panel of the card an acetate sheet to which I added the sketch elements.
I started with the beautiful Stampin' Up! (SU) "Blackberry Beauty" specialty designer series paper (DSP) that has gold owls in the pattern. I used this as the main panel on the front. For the sketch's three squares on the right I glued pieces of the laser-cut gold SU "Forever Gold" specialty DSP on to much larger pieces of Rich Razzleberry cardstock, then used my trimmer to cut out 1" squares. This laser-cut foil is very delicate, so use liquid glue sparingly, being as careful as you can not to get any glue on the front of the gold patterns (this is the toughest part of the whole card!).
Then I mounted all four panels on gold cardstock that gave a 1/8" mat around each gold pattern piece. Again, use the glue sparingly, and not near the edges so it doesn't ooze out onto the gold matting.
While the four matted pieces were drying, I cut a 4-1/4"x 5-1/2" piece of clear acetate to be the front of the card, and a piece of SU Rich Razzleberry cardstock at 4-1/4"x 6" to be the back. I scored the cardstock 1/2" from one end and burnished it to create a nice tight flap to which I then used super strong double-sided Scor-Tape to attach the decorated acetate piece to the 1/2" flap of the cardstock base.
The final step was to create the sentiment. I was going to do it in gold, but decided it would get lost in all the other gold on the card front. So I used the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foiling system I bought myself for Christmas to foil a scrap piece of the burgundy cardstock with the Brother Hot Foil plate that says "Happy Anniversary". I chose pink foil to pick up on the pink pattern in the owl pattern paper. After the sentiment was foiled, I used it's matching die to cut it out. It is mounted on the front of the card with foam tape to add dimension. Be sure not to put any of the tape on the back of the sentiment that will show through the clear acetate from the back.
I am rating the difficulty level of this card as a "4" because of how difficult the laser-cut leaf pattern is to glue, and the need for precise measurements so the rectangle/squares on the front leave reasonable clear margins around them for the "see through" feature.
I can't wait to send this beautiful anniversary card to one of my daughters. It has both feminine and masculine features that are appropriate for a couple.
