Another for today's sketch, turned on its side. I think the stamp is VLV, it's red rubber on mounting foam. First time using it, already forgot where I got it. I knew my siblings would like it.
This is also for Melody's VSN- Wide World of Sports. 'Spanning the globe to bring you the constant variety of sport...the thrill of victory...and the agony of defeat.' I still can hear Jim McKay's voice saying this and the ski jumper crashing at the end of the ramp...I cringed every time.
I decided to focus on winter sports, since the Olympics are coming up soon. For me, the Olympics aren't quite the same as they used to be. Nothing amateur about it. I know the athletes are still thrilled to be in the games but they'd still make money, even if they don't medal.
I Googled the most popular winter sports and wouldn't you know, it said 'snowshoeing', (besides skiing). Something the whole family can do! I found this funny quote by Dave Barry and used some gel print stash. Acrylic paint base, stencil, gold acrylic metallic through the stencil.
I have to say, yet again, that I don't know what masculine or feminine means. I don't create thinking about this and I don't know how to do it. It shouldn't mean anything anymore. Too much emphasis on gender, not enough on character/inclusiveness/'be who you are' thinking. Men wore high heels, ruffles, makeup, beauty marks, long ago. I know I'm probably in the minority about this but, please, don't comment on this card with the word 'masculine.' Thank you for listening.

Hahahahaha : ) This would be a perfect card for my bestie from the time we were about ten years old. I was always begging her to meet me at the community ice skating rink, and she could never understand why I took up skiing when I was 20 and never looked back! The snowshoe diagrams are perfect with this and I love the torn edges of the paper strips. Oh, and I love your comment about Jim McKay and that horrific video of the crashing skier; I think that image makes everyone shudder! Love your card and sticking it in my Faves!
