This set has been sitting by my work space in my Rubber Room for several weeks now just waiting to get inky. Lisa's "Trees" challenge was the perfect opportunity to put ink to paper. A card by catluvr2 on the weekend prompted me to dust off my candlewick border die.
Stamped the tree in green, use the stamp platform to line up the words. Embossed the words with clear embossing powder - hard to catch in the photo but it adds a lovely shine. Added the manger/heart and a wee star on the tree. The stamped/die-cut panel is mounted on a dark green card base - looks almost black in the pic. This is very much like a sample I saw when this now retired set was originally released - can't remember who created it but will try and find out to give credit. I have always loved this set - for quick and easy as well as more complex cards.
Lisa's story of a drum set tree made me laugh. One year when we were up to our necks with last minute orders for our sports photo business, I wrapped a string of lights around a tripod and dubbed it our 'tree'. We did eventually get a tree up that year but we still set up the "tripod tree" every year. We also have a pre-lit palm tree we set up in our front foyer so I'm okay with offbeat trees.
Thanks for stopping by.

And this is what Christmas is all about! A Beautiful tree with the Perfect song and the shine must look Amazing on the precious words! Then you placed the manger for the trunk with a heart right above it. It doesn't get much better. Well done~
