This week the MIX celebrates an artist beloved by children and adults alike. I made my card in the style of Eric Carle using various gel prints in my collection. I followed his technique by first drawing a large leaf and then cut out various parts to fit in the leaf. The bg was sponged using distress inks and I also did some stenciling. I outlined my leaf in a gold pen. The ladybug was made with another gel print that I printed on an old book page. The bug's legs are a portion of a flower die. I hope you will check out today's MIX and be inspired by Eric Carle.

This makes me smile. I love the textbook ladybird and the flower legs are total genius. The different patterns in the leaf are fascinating. Thanks for a cool challenge and great links - I've always wondered how the caterpillar had been created.
I know I could have used gel prints too ;-), but the only white tissue paper I could find came in a roll, so I am very well supplied with it now. I don't seem to get as much incidentally in deliveries as other people obviously do, LOL.

Pol, your gel prints are the stunning beginning for your Eric Carlesque lady! I, too, noticed the mum petal feet…clever, mf. Let me not forget to mention the depth of your bg and that amazing sentiment….I must use make art with that thought soon…Fav’ed for sure. And sure do miss how the Fav’s on Sunday gave so many in our community a chance to catch these sparks of art each week!
