Mary is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week. Thank you, Mary, for giving us a palette that works well with my continuing need for Christmas cards. The colors are Real Red, Garden Green and Mango Melody. The dessert option this week is designer paper, but I wasn't able to work it into my design. Diet time for me!
For this card I used one of the stamps from the new Tim Holtz holiday collection, Cozy Christmas. I stamped it in archival ink on watercolor paper, then watercolored with my Mijello Mission watercolors. I added a color wash to the background by diluting the Mango paint color until there was barely a tint to the water. When it was dry, I used a snowflake stencil and Glimmer paste to add some sparkly snowflakes all over the background.
I stamped the greeting in VersaMark ink and heat embossed with gold powder, then cut with a banner die from the Blueprints 13 set.

Great idea on your water colored background Barbara, it really gives a vintage vibe! Very pretty design!
You mentioned earlier my taking staging pieces on the road, I don't plan too, but who knows I might 'shop' for inspiration while traveling! Wink, wink!
Barbara, I love this vintage Christmas card. You colored the image beautifully and I love, love, love the beautiful background. I can only imagine how sparkly it is in person. Gorgeous!
