LeAnn is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week. What a lovely palette: The colors are Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent and Crumb Cake. The dessert option is to use a die.
I started off by stamping the bamboo stalks, using a modified thumping technique. I inked up the stamps in Soft Succulent, then tapped randomly on the stalks with Evening Evergreen. I love red rubber stamps; they provide such depth that you just can't get with a photopolymer stamp. And by combining the two ink colors, I think I achieved even more depth and color variation. I used my MISTI for the bamboo stalks, but switched to my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig for the rest of the images. It makes placement so quick and easy! I used the direct-to-paper technique to ink up some Shimmery White cardstock with Soft Succulent, and then die cut the three little hearts.
My card base is Crumb cake, stamped with the long-retired background stamp, Weathered. I sponged the edges of the base card, too. I mounted the bamboo image on a layer of Shimmer Vellum, then mounted it onto the base card.
Thank you, LeAnn, for a perfect palette for the sympathy card I need. It's for my SU demo, so it had to be this stamp set! She lost her beloved Samoyed this past week.

Soothing and caring sympathy card with the challenge colors. Love how you created more depth using two colors on the bamboo. I still use my Stamp-a-ma-jig, too. Wonderful layout. Beautiful card.

So sad for your friend, Barbara. This is a beautiful and thoughtful sympathy card that I'm sure she will treasure. You've done a marvelous job of using this week's colors in creating this heartwarming design.
Barbara, this is a stunning clean and simple card design. I love that you used both the succulent and evergreen inks together on the bamboo stalks. The woodgrain background is perfect to highlight the image layer.

This is such a beautiful and peaceful sympathy card, Barbara. I love the bamboo and the added hearts. I completely agree with you regarding red rubber ~ it is absolutely the best and creates the very best impressions. I also still keep my stamp-a-ma-jig on hand at all times!
