I'm still playing catch up on the Alphabet Challenge letters. With this card, I'm caught up...until Wednesday anyway!
The letter U we were to choose our favorite technique. That is a hard thing to narrow down as I like so many! A recent Wednesday tutorial was for blended embossed resist so I decided to do that one. I do love embossed resist.
This card is based on a recent Gina K 5 minute card video. I chose similar colors and used the same starry stamp in the background but did some other things.
I repeatedly stamped the starry stamp down the background panel and heat embossed white embossing powder. Then I ink blended Tempting Turquoise in the middle, Gorgeous Grape on top, and Granny Apple Green on the bottom.
I decided to add my big birthday candle and heat embossed it on Gorgeous Grape cs, the flame on white, and colored the flame with yellow and orange distress ink.
I die cut 3 of the happy birthday sentiment and layered together...poorly...because i lost patience with the idea! I fussy cut a shadow layer for this sentiment and then heat embossed the sub sentiment.
The candle, flame, and sub sentiment are all popped up with foam tape.
Thanks for the challenge and thanks for looking!
