This is my sample for an upcoming tutorial - I'll fill in more details when everything goes live! I started by stamping a repeating pattern on a sheet of gessoed canvas. I colored the entire piece with a colored pencil and blended with a large brush and rubbing alcohol. The leaves were colored with Polychromos pencils and blended with OMS. I grated a tiny bit of Inktense block over the panel and misted with water, then splattered with a gold liquid mica (Judikins?I forgot that I had it). The wood bases I used are from Michaels - I used gel medium to adhere the canvas then added a coat of matte varnish to seal. Sooo lightweight and easy - will add these to my holiday show pile!
