This card was made for a sketch challenge which also asked that we create a vintage card. I chose to do a Christmas card because I had some vintage holly pattern paper in my stash.
The holly dies are from Stampin' Up! (SU) "Poinsettia" die set. The matching "Poinsettia Petals" stamps were used to stamp the bottom holly leaf with SU Garden Green ink, and the holly berries with SU Cherry Cobbler ink. Because I wanted the impressions of the leaves and berries to stand out, I first stamped them, then ran through my Big Shot using the impressions pad and extra thick impressions plate, then ran them through using the standard die cutting sandwich. By doing the impression BEFORE die cutting I ended up with deeper impressions on the die cuts. The berries and leaves were mounted to the scalloped panel using rolled up Mini Glue Dots.
The ivory panel was cut to fit the leaves and berries with an extra 1/2" on top and bottom. Then I used an old Fiskars scalloped punch to created the scalloped edges required in the challenge sketch.
I am rating the difficulty level of this card as a "2" out of a possible "5" since the matching dies and stamps work so well together.
