The Friday Free For All Challenge, F4A602 - Hello- 9/3/21, was to make a thank you card.
Hereâs my quickie card for this challenge, using a fun postcard that a dear friend included with some gifts from The Mercantile, Pioneer Womanâs original store in Oklahoma.
Is this not the cutest postcard ever?! This challenge was the perfect opportunity to get brave and recycle it into a thank you for my friend.
In all honesty, the most difficult part was finding a rectangle die in my stash that maximized the fun watercolor look image. After all that, I cut the postcard with too much white space at the top and not enough at the bottomâ¦.not happy!!!!Measure twice, cut once, as my woodworker hubby reminds meâ¦.
This flub caused me to ditch my original design idea and I only had space a teeny tiny thank you strip at the bottom. The wee hearts at the top weâre added to help fill the white space, as was the skinny raffia bow.
Many thanks to you for swinging by and looking at my card for the thank you challenge. Hope you have a lovely, and safe Labor Day weekend!

Awesome upcycling of the postcard! It is a special one and I would want to recycle it, too. Your card looks amazing. The added hearts and raffia bow are perfect. Terrific thank you for your friend!

It is so fun and interesting to read your write up. I would never have known you had trouble. It is one of the best postcards I have ever seen with the watercoloring effect. Is this THE real Ree Drummond you are talking about? How Fun! The red truck alone caught my eye right away but oh all the other details in it too. The lamp posts! Love those! Your little red hearts and raffia bow add to the country charm touch. Wonderful to upcyle this for your friend, Susy!
