As soon as she sent it to me, I knew exactly what I was going to make, adding a Down Under Australian twist to it. One of my knitting fashion books from the eighties includes Jenny Kee's iconic Binky koala sweater as worn by Princess Diana. In fact, the book features a slightly simplified version, but still by Jenny Kee. And for an up-to-date note, last year she re-released the sweater as a limited edition, to raise funds for the Port Macquarie Koala Hospital. There's an article about it (and a photo of Princess Diana wearing hers) HERE.
So I was all set to go with a koala and knitting . Embossed and sanded the background. Stamped the koala on watercolour paper, coloured with Inktense pencils and fussy-cut. I added some colourful sequins and a sentiment. Panel edged with Stickles, and a gold line drawn on the card base to frame it.

Amazing that you had both the koala and the sweater combo in your supplies...this is perfect, so cute. I remember her wearing that sweater. She had so many iconic fashion moments. Well done Sabrina!

Fantastic koala-on-a-knit-bg card, Sabrina! After reading the article you posted, I am amazed that her influence in the fashion industry is still strong, and that it is being used for good! Love the sanded embossed bg, the beautifully colored koala image, and the Stickles edge!

This is so cool especially since you could attach a picture with Di wearing the sweater you were talking about. Really awesome construction and fab job on the sanding block technique.

Sabrina, this is fabulous with the knitted EF and very cute koala! I do remember Princess Diana wearing this jumper - Jenny Kee was huge back then and, by memory, had quite a successful time working and living in the UK. These days she lives in the Blue Mountains, not far from Sydney. Only apt this card comes to Australia *wink wink*!

Wow, I love this card, and the inspiration and story behind it. I don't think I ever saw that sweater, and as a koala lover, I think I would have remembered it. You've captured it so well with that blue cardstock and EF.
