For the MIX challenge this week we're giving reverse stenciling a try. I followed this blog post which outlines the process. I used two different colors of acrylic paint on my bg. I painted the first layer and let it dry and then applied another color and placed my stencil on top. I wiped away the paint from the open parts using a baby wipe and then carefully removed the stencil. I found that when I pulled it up some of the paper came with it. I kind of liked this look. If you use gesso as your first layer you will get a more detailed or clearer print. I sponged around the edge with black DO, doodled, and added my "calm" lady (who apparently never gets mad or flustered..I wonder why?)....Come join us this week and have fun with stencils!

Wonderful bg using this technique, Polly, and in my fav colours! The specks of gold and doodling just add so much to this card and you know I love your calm, unflustered lady!

What a fun sentiment, and the chunky EP looks super.
I had a go, not very successful, with AI on my small media plate the other night. Maybe it was too hot, too dry or something but all bar the first one, the paper stuck to the plate. So I did NOT go for that look today with the stencil , but it does look great with your vintage lady.

Such a funny sentiment
Love how you did the background, the blue and green are so pretty together!
ps. I also have a round puzzle waiting in the wings. It's butterflies!

What a fab example of the technique, Pol! I love the doodled frame, the chucky bits of ef, the sassy sentiment and that woman. I do like the lil' bits of paper carnage...
