I started the collage on Monday just wanting to play around with it as I hadn't tried it from when it was first posted. You can find it here: 4-in-1 Collage Background Tutorials at Splitcoaststampers
I wanted to cover up some stencilling in the middle which was too dark and didn't look right, so out came the hydrangea die. Slowly it dawned on me to do some distressing, which is Ann's Alpha D challenge this week. D for distress. Yay-happy accident. I cut 2 flower heads from Bristol as that is good to sponge DOX inks on. Turned one 180 degrees and adhered them together with glue dots. Used mini dimensionals to adhere to panel. Sandi MacIver had done some gorgeous multi watercoloring on her hydrangeas found on pinterest, so I tried that idea with the DOX's.
I stamped my sentiment on a cut off piece of the collage panel and popped up with dimensionals.

Shirl, that was such an excellent idea to begin your project on River Rock .... made such a warm background to begin your beautiful collage! I followed your link to the 4-in-1 collage tutorial .... will have to try this, too. How beautifully you sponged your hydrangea blossoms! Gorgeous distressed card to cheer the recipient!
