I have some low-key sparkle with an SN clear glitter pen and Sakura stardust pens. My mother grew up mostly in France, was sent to Scotland during the war as she had TB and there weren't many facilities available in occupied wartime France. She left France after college, travelled a bit but lived mainly in Canada until she met my father and ended up moving here permanently. As a result of all that moving, there are very few tangible reminders of her early life - my teddybear wears her christening robe, and I have a couple of her dresses (including a New Look Dior number which, alas, I don't fit into anymore) - and this little peacock was her childhood nightlight. Doesn't work anymore, though I'm sure it could be restored. It inspired this card.
Image stamped on white card, coloured with Polychromos. SN clear glitter and Sakura Stardust pens to add some sparkle, and some sequins. The base is black card embossed with a Spellbinders ef and rubbed with a gold distress crayon.

I love your peacock and the colors you used on him. The framing is gorgeous. And thanks for sharing the story about your mom. You may not have many keepsakes of her youth, but the ones you have sound precious and dear indeed. Beautiful card to honor her memory and to brighten Linda's day. A two-fer!

Stunning card, Sabrina. Thanks, too, for sharing about your mother. I love reading the personal stories behind the cards. My mother also had TB - in the 50's. She was diagnosed 2 weeks after her marriage and spent 13 months in a sanitorium.

What a charming night light and thanks for sharing your mother's travels. The black and gold looks like a fine antique wooden frame for the pretty peacock. I appreciate your thoughtful card to share with Linda.
