Susan, it's your fault that I got lost in the Sylvia Beach Hotel . I wandered into each and every room and had a hard time picking just one. I finally narrowed it down to Agatha Christie's, JK Rowling's, Amy Tan's and Chez Collete's. After having a go with Agatha Christie's and not making it work (Hercule Poirot was being sassy), I chose Amy Tan's - it brought me Joy and Luck! The painting above the headboard inspired this card, along with the gorgeous colors of the pieced quilt.
As for the quote, it continues inside the card: "You cannot change one moment of your past, but you can change your whole future. Now is your time. " It is by Matthew Kelly, another favorite author, from his book The Rhythm of Life: Living Everyday with Passion & Purpose.
Thank you for that unique and awesome challenge, Susan! The next time we visit Oregon, I hope we get to stay there (we're JK Rowling, Agatha Christie and Amy Tan fans). Thank you, Sabrina, for doing the "behind the scenes" so that we Teapotters can tickle each other!

This is beautiful! So elegant! You did a fabulous job with the inspiration! I love the paper you used! I hope to bump into you when we all stay at this hotel, I plan to either be in Jane Austen's room or the JK Rowling room! That is about as opposite as can be, right?

This is gorgeous. The colors and scene are so serene. It would be a wonderful room to dwell in. Did you partially heat emboss the limb? It looks so cool and interesting.
I love all those authors too and have read several Amy Tan books including Joy Luck Club. I am glad she brought you Joy and Luck as well. But, as always, the sentiment/quotation you have used is so wonderful and inspiring that it steals the show. Love it. Love you card. Love your write-up. Hugs and Joy to you.

Gem, I am so happy you answered the gentle call of Amy Tan! Your card is sure to be treasured by some teapotter with it's beauty. The simplicity of the Gingko branch is gorgeous.
Thank you for bringing us that soul examining quote! I'll knock softly on your door...perhaps we can sneak down to the library for a cuppa tea.

Oh, I'm so glad somebody picked Amy Tan. I've only read the Joy Luck Club and The Bonesetter's Daughter but I really enjoyed them both. Too many books and not enough time.
DH is very intrigued by your use of the Silhouette with pen - I was showing him your Pac-man card the other day. Lovely simple Asian elegance here.

Amy Tan is a great Author for me as well. I love your card with the Neutral colors and the quote is fabulous and so very true! Only we van make the changes, though.
