Since this is a wedding inspiration site for the most part, I have two wedding stories for you:
March 2020, my daughter in law's oldest brother was to get married in New Zealand. Immediate family was to go. They were to leave March 13, the day NZ closed their borders. They had already decided not to go, much to the dismay of the bridal couple, but in the end, none went and it's a good thing because they would have been marooned there for two weeks with nothing open and I doubt the wedding would have happened. They're still not married. And yes, they all got refunds.
Second story:in the early 2000s, a high school friend of mine got married in New Hampshire. We went, our one job, besides reading scripture, was to pick up the cake on our way to the wedding. We're following some friends of hers in our rental car, get to this quaint little town, traffic comes to a dead stand still. Up ahead, we can see flags bobbing and hear music. There is a Founder's Day parade going right through town, right in front of the bakery. We had no choice but to the follow the parade; I got out of the car, ran into the bakery, picked up the cake, said to them 'wouldn't it have been nice if we knew there was a parade going through town?' (no response!!), rushed back to the cars as the drivers continued following the parade. In high heels. We were a little late. Who can make these stories up?? I guess the best wedding memories are the glitches, although Leah's brother and his fiance have yet to recover from their dream shattered.
I needed to make a card for a swap with this technique: color blocked children's card. Yes I have two granddaughters but I don't have any other children in my life. This die set is sort of difficult to use; you end up cutting extra stuff, just to get the colors you want. But it is darn cute. I didn't mean to cut the hair in black and brown, it just happened. Oh well, the longer hair looks like it in the background, right?
Very fun site, although the money spent on weddings always astounds me. And add in a destination wedding?!??? Holy wedding bells!

I am totally captivated by this card! It has so much interest and excels in cuteness! Love the idea of the sky with the stars and clouds. Your die cut girl is wonderful and so is her hair, didn't notice anything off with it at all, the darker so looks like it should be that way.
Wow, love that you shared the wedding stories. Perhaps the current unmarried couple should set up a video call and go ahead and tie the knot!

How cute this is, Jean! Love all the gold stars & strips of blue. I'm w/ you..the $$ spent on weddings is IMHO ridiculous. I would much rather have a simple one & spend the money on something like a house or furnishings.

Probably there are lots of failed weddings out there from this past year - fun/sad stories from your experiences! Love your inspired card - a fun die cut girl flying in the stars! (I agree, lots of money spent on weddings is crazy!)

Jean - you nailed the feeling of your inspiration in that bg you created - the sheer gold stars floating over the field of blue are perfect. I'd say the 2-tone hair on that die cut darling was a very happy accident giving more depth to the image.

Ooh, I did not know they made those girls in dies, yep adds depth to her hair. and I am so sorry for the missed wedding. one of my nephews was canceled last year because of covid and then they had it with just them alone a few months later. not sure yet if they will do a reception or something later down the road.
