Janelle is this week's MIXed media hostess and she has challenged us to go POP Art.
I thought about this for a while, and I was going to use the technique where you use the back of a clear outline stamp to stamp in solid colour, and then stamp the outline over it - but I don't have very many symmetric stamps that this would work with, and I didn't want to do snowflakes.
So I made myself a little rubber duck potato print stamp. I was going to use four in one of the classic Pop Art layouts, but the size of my duck was dictated by the size of my cookie cutter, and I could only fit three without making a ginormous card.
After cutting the squares, I masked the ducks and stamped Gradation over them in squeezed lemonade, to take away the starkness of the white and add something of the dotted print look. I stamped part of a sentiment across each one.
I used the Sanded Pencil Background technique for my background, getting in my extra medium. Stamped a border all round the edge, arranged my ducks and then added a little resin one, which is going to make this not fun to post. I added black half pearls for eyes, and then some black Nuvo Drops to fill the background in a little.

How creative to make your own stamp!! When I taught art in elementary school, we did a lot of stamping with potatoes; the bottom of a celery stem makes a fabulous rose by the way! Love this cute card and the sentiment is perfect!

This is perfect! I love your potato print ducky. Oh my word, this card is adorable... and those other projects will still benefit from the completion of this card. This was just cleansing your palette, so to speak. {wink} Your soup sounds delicious on this snowy (for me) day. Thank you for playing in the Mix-Ability challenge!
