Such a fun site for the Inspiration Challenge! I chose THIS picture for my inspiration.
After die cutting the lt blue panel, I stamped it w/ the white ink using the dot bg. The birches were die cut & I used B66 & B32 Copics to shade the edges. The leaves on the bg were stamped using a couple of blue ink & the ones on top were die cut & shaded w/ the same Copics.
Thanks so much for looking. It's on my blog w/ closeups & links: The Write Stuff

Julie, I have never used Rubbernecker stamps nor dies, but this artwork is compelling me to take a closer look at their products, for I am truly blown away by the art that you have been able to create with these products, although I do believe that much has to do with YOU, the artist, although these are clearly quality stamps and dies. This work is a true WOWSER, your shading of your dies and highlighting is masterful, as is your overall coloring and creating your sky and grounding your image. I just keep staring and staring at this artwork. I truly hope that you are sending this to someone who will TREASURE this and someone who will keep it, it really needs to be framed and kept!!!
I'm loving how you have set up the photographing of this card, from the mirrored surface so that the image will be seen on the base of the work and it feels like you have continued the scene in the background, which is truly unbelievable when looking from a distance. Seeing it at a closer angle, it changes somewhat but it looks just as stunning, just the details change but the beauty is as glorious.
It was your birch trees that compelled me to take a closer look, and when I did, I was even more taken with them, and those leaves add a depth of color that is stunning. I am impressed that you have used those leaves die-cuts in the background but painted/stamped, adds a great balance that really balances the work at such a high level artistically. I don't pretend to have artistic training or skills, I simply am loving what I see, and this is one of the top couple of pieces of art I have ever seen on SCS or viewing cards on any site, seeing anywhere.
Your artwork is outstanding in every possible way, Julie. I am really quite speechless (clearly that doesn't happen often as my comments tend to be too long compared to what others leave, I apologize for this), all I want to do is to continue looking at this work, and I personally love the colors that you have chosen. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for quite honestly blowing me away and for making my day!!!
