Thank you Barbara for a wonderful color combination this week...no desert option for me though. Maybe sandcastles, lots of that! My Sunset Magazine photo, taken from a three year old magazine in our break room had the perfect colors, don't you think?
I first gesso'ed the page onto mixed media paper. Used two coats on top. There is a lot of texture on the picture from the brush. Waited a few days to dry and then die cut the puzzle pieces from an old one Sizzix die. The Oregon letters are cut from a Font called 'Easy Peasy' Sizzix on glitter paper.
The card base was embossed using the Wave Folder from Stampin Up. It makes quite a deep impression. I especially like the fell of it as you open the card.
This card is also for Puzzling Days VSNMini Challenge. Check it out, Kim has given us lots of ideas to use puzzles in our card making. You have until December 21! I decided to place the final piece inside my card in a glassine envelope. And that piece is the prettiest section of the whole puzzle! Can't wait for the recipient to receive this.
Thank you ladies for your challenges...it was so much fun to puzzle the finish! And please tell, are you a jigsaw puzzler, a wordsmith, a number player...I'd love to know.

I'm more of a wordsmith. My brother Bill was the puzzler. Thanks for another teaser taste of OR. Isn't it fun when you spy something without really looking?

Love what you've done with a page in an old magazine, Susan! And when the recipient receives the final piece (the Best piece) how fun will that be! I love to make crossword puzzles and jigsaws too. Actually, I've done sudoku's and word searches too.
