When I saw Jean's Technique Challenge about marbling, I was only in a BAJ mood and I knew I couldn't be dipping this large and think BAJ page into some watery ink solution. So I set out to try to do some faux marbling instead. I make an inky mixture on a folded over piece of aluminum foil and slapped it on my page (bring the water to the horse if you can't lead the horse to water?). Anyway, it sort of worked and I liked the end result although the challenge police may give me a ticket.
Also, a little birdie told me that this fits the WT818 challenge for this week which is all about birds. How fun is that!!!
This is on Psalm 106 - another retelling of how bad the Israelites were and how God relented again because He is so wonderful. Those Israelites were pretty disobedient and hard headed, and today we continue on in their footsteps with new twists of disobedience. My birds are representations of the Israelites and us. Getting out all my bird images as the **ART*JOURNAL*JOURNEY* prompt this month is birds. Added the sticky note after reading the verse about God taking note of the pleas.
Thanks for the inspiration, Jean!

Hear the sirens?? No I don't either. How could I do that with such splendor??? One of my favorite pieces of choral music is The Heavens Declare the Glory of God from The Creation by Haydn. I've been reminded of that music twice this week, must be a sign. Glorious work, Nancy!

I love that bird set and don't use it nearly enough. Your ink and smash was certainly the way to go to get that look on a page you couldn't dip.

I love your faux marbling and of course those cute birds! Wonderful scripture, too!

This is so beautiful! What caught my eye in your journaling, yet he saved them for his name's sake. After my car accident, I finally memorized Psalm 23. (I always knew parts of it but never had the verses exactly right in my head.) What startled me was something I had never paid attention to: "He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake". HE guides me and it's not about me trying to be good but He is helping for HIS name's sake. How cool is that? And your scripture says he saved them for HIS name's sake. Yay. I am so glad it's not about us and how well we do. Thanks for sharing your beautiful BAJ!

Wonderful background, Nancy and those birds are just great. We do seem to be acting a lot like the Israelites right now don't we. Thankfully God gives us another chance at getting it right!

I love seeing your journal pages that include bible verses. Do you print the verses out and then do your artsy finishing around it? I am thinking of doing a similar journal in 2021. Gods word is so encouraging!
