Guess what song I chose for today's Free for All Challenge? It was a fun challenge for me. I saw it last night and asked my kids what song I should choose. Raleigh chose his favorite song--Let It Be. Desmond chose Eleanor Rigby to taunt Raleigh. We laugh because Raleigh says Eleanor Rigby gives him nightmares. Frankly, Desmond agreed with him at first that the song is creepy. Living with a 5 and 7 year old is so interesting. For Janelle's MIX challenge, I grabbed this background out of my background drawer. It was made from cleaning up paint and swiping with an old credit card and I think it makes a perfect background for me glittery letters. I designed the cut file for my ScanNCut and cut it four times and layered. Then I backed it with my new MFT Grand Greenery die cuts. When I was almost done, my friend texted me asking what I was making for a card this morning. I sent her a pic and told her I was almost done, but couldn't decided if the letters or leaves should get the glitter. She chose the letters. This card was a team effort :0)

And a terrific team effort it is! Great card for both challenges, and I love that the boys helped you choose the song. I happen to like both choices, and maybe Eleanor Rigby more. Hugs those boys for me!!!

What a wonderful write-up. Yes, children have very interesting conversations - sometimes profoundly so, but thankfully not often, they are meant to be children after all. Both your background and your foliage are really wow. Especially the background.

Yay team on a great card. Love that song too, not much of an Eleanor Rigby fan either. That bg is beautiful and I think its great for this card too. And your friend made the right choice -- definitely glitter on the letters. Wonderful card. Yay team! again.

Jen, I am so glad to hear you are bringing your boys up as Beatles fans. It will serve them well. (Kudos to Raliegh for picking up the "creepiness" of Eleanor Rigby... that's pretty perceptive for his age.
And it's Desmond, as in "owns a barrel at the marketplace?") Love the background -- good choice to pull it out of the drawer.

Love the team effort from the boys and your friend LOL. I can understand why Desmond finds the song creepy...she does after all keep her face in a jar beside the door and she died in church. I digress, Raleigh's song choice is brilliant and your card is off the mixed media charts as always Jen. Thanks for joining in the fun.

This card has such a wonderful abstract look...just perfect for this particular beatles song. The glittered letters really pop. Your team effort produced a fabulous result. My two little boys are 23 and 25 and still like to tease each other.
