One of the guys in work is getting married this month. It was meant to be back in May, but at that stage even the registry offices were closed, so nothing doing. Currently we're at Level 3, so they can have 25 guests. Anyway, he's a trad musician, primarily banjo, so I pulled out some old Scottish music and added three layers of gesso, enough to give it body but for the music to still show through. With the heart-shaped media plate I built up some layers of ink, and then added texture with stencils, bubble wrap, Off the Grid and Vintage Vogue. I used a rose and hexagon stencil in the top corner, which was easy enough to extend downwards. Along the bottom I used a swirly stencil with Antique Linen. Plan A was to use the eclipse technique for the names, but I reckoned it would require passing the piece through the BigShot too many times, so I just die-cut them again from extra gessoed music and black for the outlines. Always is a negative underlaid with red glitter card. I stamped the music and embossed with gold. Distressed all the the edges with vintage photo and maybe walnut stain, and then after adding to the base, added Stickles all around.
For the inside I added a cream inlay with punched corners. I wanted to leave plenty of room for everyone to sign, so I used the sentiment from Word Play, in a gold ring with a diamond (magazine freebie) stamped on glitter card.
And I was very relieved to find that, large as it was, I was still able to make an envelope from a 12" square using the WRMK punchboard.
