Here's my card for the color challenge and faux challenge. The card is a faux-mosaic technique using bits of paper as the tiles and embossing powder as the 'grout'.

Love the mosaic look to this card.

Thanks - the card looks better IRL - I have dimensionals behind the cat and sentiment so they pop up a bit.
I saw this technique on the Carol Duval show, I think. It looks good with silver EP too - just comes out a little darker than I wanted for this card.
You start with a sheet of double sided tape (like our Sticky Strip, but it comes in sheets) and pull one part of the adhesive off. Then put down the bits of paper on the sticky side, leaving room between the pieces for the 'grout'. When you're all done, sprinkle on the EP between the 'tiles' and heat. I had some trouble with the backside of the sticky tape shrinking a bit during heating - but once I stuck it down on the paper, I was able to work out the wrinkles. Then remove the other part of the tape from the back of the mosaic and stick to your paper.
You could probably add some Crystal Effects or clear EP to make the 'tiles' shiny - that would be a neat effect as well.
I have some other ideas to try with this technique as well - it's fun and easy to do.
