It reminded me of the black alcohol ink cardstock I have had sitting on my shelf for a year or so. And I wondered if the DOX spray stains would show up on the black. And they did!
First I just sprayed the stains onto the black card but that, of course, just gave me a lovely light splatter all over, not what I was looking for!
So then I decided to open the spray bottles and just drop some of the stains onto my craft mat and then smooshed the black card over the stains on the mat. I just pressed the card down onto the color, lifted it carefully to look at it and then pressed various blank spots back onto the stains.
I cut my black card in two and made these two cards. I tried framing them in black but it took away from the beautiful designs so I just left them as panels.
I also tried putting sentiments on them - but that too detracted from how lovely they looked - so I've left them blank for now and will probably use them as note cards - or stamp a needed sentiment inside (like Happy Birthday, or with Sympathy etc)
Thank you for this unexpected inspiration today Julie!

Wow, Julia, these are amazing. So much depth and movement. I don't blame you for not covering them up with a sentiment. They are gorgeous just as they are.

What a fun artsy experiment to start the day ... and what a cool end result ... I'm sure the recipient will love to just leave them sitting out for a bit of artsy love to make them smile.
