I made this card for 2020 VSN Summer Playlist: Janet's challenge: "What a Wonderful World." She had us choose 3 items from her Tic Tac Toe board to use on our card. I used colored pencils, heat embossing and 3D pop dots.
This was a back to basics card for me. I stamped my image directly onto my white card using my Misti. Then, I also stamped a sentiment and sun & flower at the bottom with Versafine Onyx black ink...using clear embossing powder on this area and heat embossing.
Then I simply colored my card. I stamped and fussy cut out a dragonfly and colored this also. I popped the dragonfly up on my card with pop dots. I added Stickles glitter and done!
Janet, this was such a fun challenge and I immediately thought of this image when I read your description!
I'm also using this card for the June 2020 Misti "Pink" challenge to use pink on a card that brings you joy. This card definitely inspires joy for me! I loved coloring and it is a "Wonderful World."

I really love how you have colored this with pencils, a medium I have and need to pull out--especially as I spend many days in bed due to health issues, and I could manage this, even with a water brush, I think with my little portable desk... The wheels are turning, thank you! You have used such bright colors, and there's an ease in how you have colored that brings an attitude of let's just have some fun which I really like. I really like that you added dimension to your fussy-cut dragonfly, adds a neat texture and another focus.
I can only imagine how it looks in person with the stickles sparkle!
It's a great time to remember that we live in a wonderful world, and during challenging and uncertain times, there are lots of opportunities to show caring and to help others, even if it's simply a word of encouragement via email or chat or in-person while properly distancing.
This brings a smile to my face and lightens today's cares, we all have cares--what could be better, thank you so much for reminding me that I can color on my more challenging days at times. I do some hand-stitching that I make into cards, I've made some pieces that I will make into some new cards, but I also like this idea of coloring. You've made me smile too at the thought of doing more coloring, something I'd really like to improve in a major way in my cards.
Blessings and best wishes to you, Judy, thank you again for brightening my day!
