A cool penguin dude on a surfboard for my nephew's birthday. This is a Latch Card-the smiling sun is the "latch"-following this tutorial. (Pic shows the card closed & latched; I forgot take one of it opened.)
Stamped the penguin once on white CS & once on a scrap of Basic Grey DSP. Fussy-cut him out & painted the edges with the Tuxedo Black marker, brush end. Cut just his shorts out of the DSP, & painted the edges of those also. Adhered the shorts to the penguin. Colored his nose, popsicle, & feet with colored pencils. Applied Glossy Accents to the popsicle.
Cut the smallest oval out of the Basic Grey DSP 3 times, & layered them together to make the surfboard, painting the edges with the Nautical Blue brush marker. Adhered the penguin dude to the surfboard.
Fussy-cut a "wave" from a piece of Basic Grey DSP. Also fussy-cut a smaller wave & popped that up at the bottom of the bigger wave. Trimmed off a strip & adhered to the inside of the card on the right edge, before scoring. Embossed blue CS with the EF, & trimmed the top to make waves. The DSP with the clouds is SU! from a long time ago. Painted all the edges with the Nautical Blue marker.
Stamped the sun on the white CS with Tuxedo Black ink & fussy-cut him out. Colored him with colored pencils, & added some yellow WOS to his rays, white WOS to his teeth, & black WOS to his sunglasses.
Printed the sentiments onto blue CS & die-cut with Lawn Fawn dies. Popped up the sentiments & the penguin with dimensionals. Added the sun as the latch for the card.
I hope this makes my nephew smile, even tho he won't be going to the ocean anytime soon! TFL!
