We have a friend whose birthday is coming up. Even though he is unable to ride now, he used to love bike riding, so I downloaded a road bike image from Pixabay.com for the focal panel on my card.
I created a blank "canvas" in Photoshop the size of my image panel. I copied the bike image onto that, sized it, & printed it onto my white cardstock piece with my laser printer.
I ran the image panel through my Minc with blue foil. The foil missed sticking on a few spots, so I just added some 2-way glue to those (thankfully, they weren't very thin lines), let it get tacky, and applied foil to that.
I found a bicycle patterned paper from the "Jack & Jill" pad, so I cut an A2-size panel of that for the background. I used the opposite side of that paper for my greeting panel. The hole in the top of the pad was still there in the blue panel after I cut it down, so I just positioned that side on the bottom where it would be covered up by the image panel. That way, I got both panels out of one 6x6" sheet of paper!
I cut 2 strips from a dot pattern in the "That's My Boy" pad to go behind my main panels. While I wanted this to be masculine, I also wanted a pop of bright color to make it more festive.
I wanted to stamp my greeting in a warm grey ink, to echo the color of the background paper. So I used Hippo ink. I used my MISTI to stamp it, which ended up being a good thing, since I double-stamped to make it a little darker. It's still a bit lighter than I had intended, but that's OK--at least it still shows up!
There is only one banner shown in the sketch, but I chose to make 3 smaller banners and group them instead, mostly to add a bit more color & pattern. I cut them from 3 papers in my scrap stash. After adhering my greeting & image panels to the background, I positioned the banners. I didn't want them glued completely down, but wanted a bit of lift. So I used yellow Frog tape to tape them in place temporarily, then stapled them with my Tiny Attacher & removed the tape. Finally, I adhered my card front to a white card base.
