I made this card for today's Teapot Tuesday challenge. Jen is our hostess and she has chosen a wonderful challenge called "Cool Cat's" for this week's recipient who likes cats, flowers and the color green.
I also made this card for last week's Alphabet Challenge. Ann is our hostess and she has chosen the letter E for our challenge. The E in my card is for the embossing paste I used.
This card was very much inspired by a card that Sue28 made and sent to me: TLC715 Glittered Background by sue28 at Splitcoaststampers. I love the glitter embossing on the soft background and the beautiful floral image as the focal. I swapped out Sue's pretty light blue paper for green paper because that is what our recipient Jean likes. I chose to use this vase of flowers by Penny Black because I have not inked up this set before even though I have had it for some time now. I embossed the background with Nuvo Glitter paste using a Splash stencil by Taylored Expressions and set this aside to dry while I colored the vase and flowers with copic markers.
I die cut several cat images and colored them up and ruined every one of them so I decided to stamp a silhouette image instead. In our house, our cats are always standing up on their hind legs to smell any flowers that are in vases. Of course, this action preceeds the inevitable crash that is heard shortly afterwards when they tip the vase over! Hopefully, this curious kitty leaves these flowers alone! Added a die cut sentiment and the card is complete.
Thank you Jen and Ann for the great challenges and thank you for looking today. ~Karen.

How adorable is this! Oh, that cat is so, so cute. I love him/her stretching up to have a sniff of those pretty flowers in that vase. My own Willow cat used to love the clove-y smell of carnations, but did not care a whiff about any other flowers, thank goodness. The glittery embossing paste is really pretty along with the sweet hello greeting.

What a gorgeous card Karen! I love the embossed Nuvo paste background. That little kitty looking up at those pretty flowers is so adorable. I'm sure this sweet card will bring a smile to Jean's face!
I love those springtime colors, too! Hugs

Oh no glitter paste....I might have to go shopping...thanks Karen ;) This is lovely...that embossed bg really makes a statement and takes this CAS design up a notch. Love the tiny cat smelling the bouquet!
Love that sparkle to go along with your stylish vase. Your kitty is so sweet. We have a grey bunny in the house (my daughters' Corona purchase) and she does the same thing, especially when we open the fridge door. She loves her kale and celery. This is sure to brighten her day!!

Karen, the embossing paste bg is terrific! What a lovely card! I can understand stamping the silhouette after a couple failures.......makes us humble and human, doesn't it??? Hugs, mf!
