Much like our inspiration, Mary Delaney, I was into my 70's before I ever tried Mixed media. So as a mini tribute I decided to make this a MIX card taking my color cue from the teapot.
I started with a stencil on my card base and using a combination of inks and Chalks, I sponged on 6 shades of blue. Stamped my flower directly on the card base with red Fluid chalk and a second time on a scrap of white. Colored both flowers with prismacolor pencils blended with gamsol. Then I fussy cut every other petal (or portion of a petal) and layered onto my base with 4 layers of cardstock to raise them up - Offsetting the petals just slightly from the one underneath it. Instead of leaves, I used a spatter stamp embossed with Gold Glory powder. I stamped the sentiment (one of my fav's) and embossed with more Gold Glory then die cut with a Spellbinders fancy label - I die cut a 2nd one in red to use as a partial framing.

What a great tribute to Mrs D. and YOU, Linda! I love the big bold blossom and your stenciled bg. The quote couldn't be more suitable! And those splatters...Mary would love our materials, don't you think?

This is simply breathtaking Linda. I was so delighted to read that you took up mixed media in your 70's too. How fun! So you can relate to Mrs. D then? I love that. This flower just took my breath away Linda the way you created it and showcased it here. I love all the shades and layers of blue and the fabulous touches of gold too. This sentiment could not be more perfect for this card and for the times we are living in too. You took today's challenge and ran with it my friend! Hugs! ~Karen.

Your flower is amazing Bubbles and the icing on this Mary Delany cake would have to be your brilliant gold embossed splattering. Everything about this creation makes me smile.
