I have been creating cards for the Live Like Roo card drive that I heard about on Jennifer McGuire's YouTube channel & blog. The cards are for an organization, Live Like Roo, that helps with families whose pets (primarily dogs) are going through cancer. The woman who runs it sends a card with each care package, so the drive is to get as many handmade cards to give to her for that as possible. My personal goal is to make 10 cards. The stated deadline is December 15, though apparently that is a bit flexible.
I stamped the dog onto a scrap of vellum bristol paper, with Rich Cocoa ink. I colored it with my Prismacolor pencils, then placed it back in my MISTI, where I'd left the stamp, and stamped again with Rich Cocoa. That gave me a darker outline, and covered up where the pencil coloring had gone over the lines & lightened them. I die cut that with a circle die.
I added the strips to my background, as per the sketch. I added my dog circle where they overlapped. I stamped my greeting, combining the "sending" from "Jumbo Stripes" with the "hugs" & one of the hearts from "All Inside." I used Rich Cocoa for the words (double-stamped), and Candied Apple Distress Oxide ink for the heart (also double-stamped). Finally I adhered my card front to a white card base.
