This was the second background I tried for Judy's TLC challenge on Monday - when I got home from work and saw how feeble my snowy background was, I tried this one using more colours - a yellow, a green and a hint of violet. But the stencil didn't stick to all the card, and there were some very bleah bland patches. I hate wasting watercolour paper, so I remembered Anne's sweet card using the ornament punch just recently, and pulled mine out.
The bough is cut from Bazzill with an IO die, and sparkled up with some Stickles. I edged the panel with a gold leafing pen.
The ornaments were punched from one of my tomato paste tubes, then embossed with a random selection of Cuttlebug folders. Then I swiped them with white acrylic paint, and when that was dry, I pounced them with my alcohol ink applier. For the bird one, after the ink was dry I sanded it a bit. They're all edged with a white Posca Pen, but the pink ink bled into a bit. I found some hemp in my box of twines that was a good colour match so I used that for the strings and little bows (thanks Anne for that inspiration too!). I added some sequins and a single die-cut word to fill in the spaces - and found joy in redeeming a pretty unattractive background.
