William Stieg was an American cartoonist and author and illustrator of children's books. He died at age 95 in 2007. He is the creator of Shrek! In 1968, he published C D B! It is a book about children, looking at things and speaking in code: C is see, D is the, B is bee. If you just say the letters (two syllable words will have two letters with a hyphen), repeat them until they flow, then you can read C D B! Genius! Children who can't read yet, if they know their letters, they can read it! I thought this would be perfect for Jen's teapot theme, since she is a retired teacher. I had this bolt of inspiration, as I was struggling with the bee theme. My ex husband was very allergic to any kind of stings, so I was not inspired to buy bee stuff. This is also for today's IC: https://www.flagsonastick.com/garden...-18-breezeart/
I had this flower background, have used it for various projects. I guess you could call it one sheet wonder?! I stamped the little HA bees around it and computer generated the first few sentences in the book in fun fonts. I added two pressed flowers from Lori (artzadonistudio). They are larkspur; she is so talented, pressing flowers, doing paste papers.
There is another sentence on the inside that says: D B S A B-Z B!!!!! Can you read it???

Your pressed and stamped flowers are so pretty and I love the buzzing bees all around them. What a cool and important book for anyone who can't read yet.

How fun! My daughter had a cute roll in her senior play of Shrek this past spring. They have never had such large audiences and sold-out shows. She came home with lots of behind the scenes info, what the writer really meant by some of the scenes. I love your take on the flag. Love the bees and the William Steig references! Beautiful floral background!

I do see the bees, very clever. The floral paper and pressed flowers are a great garden for the bees to be busy in. I enjoyed learning from your write-up, too.
