Doubling up on today's challenges. The brick wall was easy, sponging white acrylic paint and wiping off quickly with a damp paper towel after embossing. I chose to try acrylic paints for my scary challenge.
though there are a few more on the list. The kitty wasn't really that hard, just lack of experience and not knowing what to expect, I spent more time with the process. I used 5 different colors of craft paints, mixed with a little glazing medium for easy flow. I used a postage stamp for a stencil/mask as I painted in the stripes. I also changed his expression a bit when I put the white in his eyes. Now he's looking up. Added a little more tuft to his ears with a fine tipped pen. Punched the corners and added a coppery-brown metallic elastic twine.

This does not look like a scaredy-cat! He is a beautiful Tom. And yeah you for venturing out of your comfort zone...the weather is fine out here, wouldn’t you say?

Your cat has so much character, Lori, I really like him. Neat idea to use a postage stamp for masking the stripes. He reminds me of the first family cat I can remember (Moses, rescued from drowning on a farm) who was soft marmalade very like this. We also had a more orangey one. I think you did a fab job with your acrylics.

This is so impressive! The fur on your kitty looks positively plush and pettable (is that a word?).I am beyond impressed you painted this cat with acrylic paints and captured it so beautifully, including the look of mischief in this fun feline's expression. I love the brick background and how you highlighted this too. Our "big orange boy" Sir Julio Bill looked quite a bit like this and I know he would have approved! ~Karen.
