So I learned a thing or five today...needle minders?? I guess you can tell I don't do much sewing or stitching, although I used to do a bit. I'm fascinated, they are very cool. And, Brenda, I have to ask...how many do you own??
I have been dying to use one of these large animals from this IOD set. They are intended for decor, like walls or furniture, but I thought they might work on paper too. They're clear stamps and there is a hen, rabbit, cow, the sheep and maybe one more.
Essie the Ewe was fine with me not stamping her rear end (you know how that is!). At first I thought I wanted her stamped in white on dark but I didn't get enough detail. I used bubble wrap to stamp black, brown and white dots. Since the paper is vanilla, I thought the white might show up, not so much. I was despondent that I missed last week's IC so I combined today and last week. Here are my inspirations: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/484770347390161775/

The photo from today's IC is self-explanatory. For the Audubon site, I chose the Greater Sage-Grouse (professional award, Elizabeth Boehm). I loved the neutral colors and the interesting markings on the birds as they vie for a mate. My family and I love birds and feathers. I had a blast making this!

Oh my goodness, I do love a sheep and glad you used that particular inspiration. The bubble wrap looks super and so fun. I love your sheep with the bow around the neck. We missed you last week. To answer your question, I only have a few since I quit needlepointing when I discovered making cards. My sis introduced them to me as she does tons of needlepoint, traveling to shows to learn new stitches and having fun. I am sure she has gazillions of the needle minders. I would like to collect them, though, and also do more needlepoint...just no time.

That giant ewe worked perfectly with her butt off the edge! Love the black on white and your fun dots - a wonderful inspired design! Cute little twine bow on her neck too!

I like this fun image - and it works well in just the basic black & vanilla. When I first saw that needle minder it immediately brought to mind a counted cross-stitch I made years ago with a similarly puffy sheep . . .my sentiment "Ewe's not Fat - Ewe's Fluffy"
Your bubble wrap bg brings to mind oodles of little wool balls.
